Info about the Salter Cartage New Zealand Stockcar Championship

Event Format:


Vehicle Checking at the Prestige Pools Waikaraka Speedway Pits: 1pm to 4pm

Drivers Briefing: 4.30pm All Competitors will assemble in the Club Rooms at 4.30pm for a briefing. Attendance at the Drivers Briefing is mandatory.


Practice: 5.15pm – 5.45pm

Racing Starts: 6pm

Rain Date In the event of a rain out the event will be rescheduled to Sunday 16th March 2025 or at the next opportune time.


Admission The driver and two crew members of the tow vehicle will be given free entry.

Admission Prices are – March 15th Adult $30

Child* $10 * CHILD 8 to 15 years inclusive 7 and under free

** FAMILYFamily** $70 (2 adults and up to 4 children, 8 to 15 years incl)

NOTE: You can not get more than 2 adults in on a family pass.


RACE FORMAT: - M4-32 Qualifying (Dependent on numbers) Competitors are split into two or three groups dependent on numbers. Each group will race two heats of ten laps. Grid positions for heats will be reverse marble draw.

Top 14 if two groups will go thru to final, with the final two placings determined by a ten-lap repechage. Or if three groups top 9 will go thru to final with the final three placings determined by a ten-lap repechage.

The highest unqualified competitors start from the front of the grid for the repechage race. If two or more competitors are tied on points the car with the fastest lap will take the qualifying position or first grid. First two cars (or three cars) over the line go through to the make to top 30 for the championship heats.


M4-32 Finals Championship As per rule M4-32. The championship will be three (3) heats with a maximum of 30 cars. A marble draw will be done to determine grids. Each race will be 15 laps. The highest points after the three (3) heats will be deemed to be the 2024/2025 North Island Stockcar Championship winner. Any tied points for first, second or third will be decided by a four-lap run off.
